KNOW WHO TO TRUST

Al
Nusra, the Al Quaida branch in Syria, has, at least officially, broken
ties with Al Quaida.
Al-Nusra
is a terror organization which emerged in January 2012, to fight President
Bashar al-Assad, alongside with many other jihadigroups.
The
leader of Al Nusra, Abu Mohamad al-Jolani, said in a statement:
"We decided to stop operating under
the banner of Al-Nusra and to set up a new front, called Jabhat Fateh
al-Sham”.
THE QUESTION IS WHY?

ON ONE HAND..
It’s hard to know things for
sure in a war zone, and these guys don’t follow western logic.
Charles Lister, journalist
and researcher, say that US and Russia have negotiated this split – to be
able to, more effectively, target jihadists operating in Syria.
So I guess Al Nusra might become
one of the terror organizations that we train and support in order to … make
peace?
War is ugly and insane.
Who knows - US and Russia may
have in mind, further down the line, to make this “new” group “acceptable”, as
an alternative to Assad- Al Nusra is quite popular in Syria.
I guess a lot is going on
behind the curtains, to build an alternative to Assad, which all fighting
parts can accept.
The possibility of supporting
a possible secular government in Syria, as in Iran 1979, is probably non
excisting. That would have been a blessing to the area, but hardly unlikely.

Officially, the US government assure about Al
Nusra that: "They are still
considered a foreign terrorist organisation," Kirby said. "We judge a
group by what they do, not by what they call themselves."
ON THE OTHER HAND..
According to analyst Aymenn Jawad al-Tamimi, Al Quaida expresses support to the split, in order to “get
deeper established in Syria”.
Maybe do they see a possibility as themselves as leaders of the
caliphate in Syria, and, officially or non-officially, back into alliance with
Al Nusra; if the war scene even should come to such a crazy outcome.
Lister said that "Al-Qaeda is playing a critically important role in shaping this
development, and their thinking and strategising will remain crucial for this
new Jabhat Fateh al-Sham movement.
One
of the men sitting beside Jolani during the announcement of the new Jabhat
Fateh al-Sham, was Al-Qaeda veteran leader Ahmed Salameh Mabrouk.
Al
Quaida will still oppose the most moderate of opposition groups in Syria; it
will still be viciously sectarian, and it will still ultimately seek the
establishment of an Islamic emirate in Syria and the potential launching of
external attacks on the West."
If anyone had any doubts about their
intentions..
There are no good guys in this area, seen with Western
eyes.
Most of them are dedicated muslims, who want sharia
law, and death penalty for adultery, homosexuality, and for leaving islam.
Muslims who hate Israel, USA and the Western way of
life.
No one should be surprised if both Al Quaida, the new Jabhat Fateh
al-Sham, and ISIS/ISIL, at a critical moment, could all work together for “the
good cause of islam and the caliphate”.
INTRIGES – THE SOAP OPERA OF POLITICS
Robert Fisk in The
Independent, says it like this: | | | | | | |
“Al-Julani
did – though this was missed by the “experts” in the networks – make passing
reference to bin Laden, giving the murdered
al-Qaeda leader’s blessing to the split because he had once said that the
interests of the Muslim homeland “take precedence over any state”. So the break
with al-Qaeda was mutual and all in the interests of the suffering Syrian
people, and so on, and so on.
Washington
dismissed the story as a “rebranding” exercise – without giving the slightest
indication that the whole tale was a re-boot. The Algerians
have a good saying for this: boiling old stones in the saucepan.”
He empezises Qatar’s
involvement and support to Al Nusra, and that Qatar maybe want a pice of the
Syrian cake. They have earlier wanted Al Nusra off the list of terror organizations.
The Saudis, who are supporting
ISIS/ISIL, are not happy about Qatar.
The
question maybe is: Is it with or without an US, and or, Russian game plan?
Who
is playing whose game?
This
is the soap opera of politics.
The Independent goes on saying:
“Lister’s a “senior consultant” in the “Sheikh
Group’s Track II Syria Initiative”. The Sheikh in question is Salman Sheikh,
director of the Brookings Doha Centre in Qatar and fellow at the centre for
Middle East Policy.
And the Brookings Doha Centre belongs to the
Brookings Institute and its co-chair is – you guessed it – none other than
Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem, the former prime minister of Qatar’s ex-ruler Sheikh
Hamad whose son – the new Emir Sheikh Tamim – is now trying to present Nusra
as a shiny brushed-up guerrilla army fit for acceptance by the rest of the
world as a real opposition to Assad.”

Fox News reported some days
ago about the latest US-Russia talks about Syria.
Kerry had talks both with
Lavrov and with Putin.
The proposal showed “the U.S. offering Russia a broad new military
partnership against IS and the Nusra Front, which is al-Qaida's Syrian
affiliate. Several conditions would apply, including Russia committing to
grounding Syria's bombers and starting a long-sought political transition
process.”
Dunford
denied reports that U.S.-backed opposition forces have coordinated with Nusra
in some cases.
"We
don't have any indication that the forces that we are providing support to in
Syria are cooperating or intermingled with al-Nusra," the general said.
And we have no way of knowing who’s telling the truth,
and what is really going on.
HARD TO KNOW- BEST TO PRAY
Is it a part of a
larger plan from Al Quaida?
Or is it an US effort
to fight down Assad, and establish an alternative to Assad?
Or a joint
US-Russian plan of setting up an alternative government, down the road?
Who is playing who?
One thing is sure:
Neither of them can trust the other parts.
It’s hard to know
what’s really going on.
What we can do is pray.
Pray for protection and peace for the people.
Pray that Russia and
the West can cooperate, and have the same goal.
Pray that Israel,
US and the West will be the smartest in this war.
It
will be the smartest part, and not the most evil, who will win this war.
Christians know we’re
on the winning team, God’s team, and that God of The Bible already has the
Victory.
